adjusting back to the life of a student

The transition from a full time national serviceman back to the life of a student is, hahaha truth be told pretty difficult and yes, it is a little scary. From waking up at 5am everyday for runs and physical training to waking up at 9 in the morning for classes is in itself, a huge change. Simply staying awake in classes is quite the chore because after all, NS is said to be the two years in your life where you may store your brains somewhere else because there simply isn't a need for it. I remember back in my ngee ann poly days, my work would always include long essays, math and numbers, endless research report write-ups and law. But here in nafa, I've been doing nothing but art or art related work. And i must say that I honestly am enjoying myself. It has been a pleasure doing what i love thus far and I just can't wait for my second year to arrive for me to progress into my desired field of interior design. Oh and encompassed below are some of my draft works from school.

the long way home.

the journey back home from school daily is honestly quite a chore. The long walk from the campus grounds to the train station, the long train ride and the long bus ride that follows. I guess the only things that keeps this journey home somewhat entertaining, are the sights and sounds along the way and not to mention the music on my iPod. People commuting to and from work, tourists stopping every once in awhile to take in the sights and to snap photos of the supposed scenic "garden city" and to soak in the sights and sounds. I've always loved architecture and the buildings around town are to be honest, quite  a sight to behold. The old hotels, the office buildings both new and old, the shop houses and of course, the buildings that are currently under construction which signify a ray of hope, a hope of a better tomorrow. So yes the journey home might be a long one, but it definitely is an interesting and eventful one.
